Lernen Deutsch - Update 4

Today I have completed the revision of Beginner's Course 1 and Beginner's Course 2, which I had started last week.

From today evening, I will start the Beginner's Course 3, which is at A2 level of proficiency. I have been told that I should always be one step ahead i.e. if I have clear A1 level, then ideally I should be comfortable at A2 level, for A2 level, I should be comfortable with B1 level and so on.

So, the fun with the new level starts later today.  

Lernen Deutsch - Update 3

Today I have completed the Beginner's Course 2 of learning German. As of now, I am going as per the plan for the last 2 weeks. However, I am now planning to revise Course 1 and Course 2 in coming week, starting tomorrow (22.05.2017).

Given that this is a revision and that I have already completed the exercises once before, I am expecting that it will be faster and that I will be able to complete these two courses in next one week. The only challenge is the no. of hours I will have to put in this for the next 7 days. This might be a challenge since I have to be in office for the entire next week.

Lernen Deutsch - Update 2

Well, I seem to be on track to meet the milestones of the week, however for this, I do have to complete my quota for the weekend. Hopefully, I will be able to meet my target.

Lernen Deutsch - Update 1

Well, three days back had started to learn German. I am ever since spent some good time each day in this endeavour and today I have completed the first of the seven courses in the "Beginner's Level". This course is based on level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

I hope to start the second course at A1 level tomorrow and target to complete the same by the end of the week. From the following week, I will do a thorough revision of the two "Beginner's" courses.

According to the website, Beginner's Course 1 and 2 should be able to bring me to A1 level. I have to then decide if I need to take a test for certification.

Lernen Deutsch

After many starts and stops, I have finally decided to formally learn German. All these months, I have made several voluntary tries but I had never been able to maintain a momentum. One reason of this was the lack of enthusiasm and the other was my work cum occasional travels which were nasty at times.

None the less, I have decided to take a formal plunge today. Today is Buddha-Purnima or Guru Purnima, a very auspicious day. I bought a package of learning German online from a well-known e-learning portal. Their subscription is for 12 months. I am confident that if I am able to spend 1 hour daily on this, I will be able to pick up this language pretty well in 3 months.

I made a decent start today but I have to work really hard to maintain this momentum.
